Below are common questions we are asked about our terms and conditions. We
understand that all that legal mumbo jumbo gets a bit much, so we'll try to
explain it all in simple terms! If you require more information, please feel
free to contact us and we'll be happy to
help.
Who owns my web site?
You could own your web site. Once you have paid the balancing payment to us, we
can transfer all copyright to the web site design to you. There are some
exceptions - examples include:
Software systems and specialist scripts written and owned
by Progma or third parties
- in these cases, you are granted license to use these only within your web
site, you cannot claim ownership or sell these systems/scripts to any other
company. Examples include; shopping cart software, bulletin boards (discussion
forums), database management systems/software, mailing scripts, search engine
scripts.
Stock photography - usually, you will buy a
license to use these images on your web site, but the copyright and ownership
of the image remains with the photographer.
Do you have any restrictions as to what business sites you
will design?
If your site contains material that is illegal under Illinois or Federal law,
we regret that we will be unable to design your site for you.
Why do you want the line 'Designed by Progma, Inc.' placed
at the foot of the design?
This is like an artist signing their work - it's also beneficial to our search
engine ranking as it gives us a valuable back-link - we of course reciprocate
this link back to you.
If I decide to cancel the project, can I have my deposit
back?
Yes, but we will subtract the costs for any work we have already completed,
plus any other costs that are involved in ceasing the project. You will be
fully invoiced for any charges. If the cost of the work we have completed
exceeds the deposit you have paid, we will invoice you for the remainder of the
costs.
Is it required that I have my site hosted on your servers?
No - you are free to use any web host, as long as their server space has all
the necessary features required to run your site. We can recommend several
hosts for you to look at. Please note that free ISP web space is not suitable
for running a professional business site for a multitude of reasons. Also, the
same can apply for many budget web hosts, so please choose your hosting space
carefully.
